How Does Geothermal Work?
A geothermal heating and cooling system, or "ground-source heat pump" works on a simple premise; The earth below the frost line (usally about 6 feet down in Minnesota) is a constant temperature of 50 degrees, all year.
Heat can be taken from the ground and transferred into your home and be distributed by an in floor radiant heating or a forced air sytem during the winter. In the summer, heat will be removed from your home and transferred back into the ground.
Strandlund Refrigeration Heating & Cooling, LLC is proud to be a member of the GeoExchange Geothermal Heat Pump Consortium.
